Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 May 2026

Most privacy policies are written for lawyers. We've tried to write ours for the people whose data is in it. This explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to ask us to change or delete anything.

1. About this policy

This is the privacy policy for the Qeepa app and website. It explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. We try to write this in plain English. If anything is unclear, write to us at privacy@qeepa.comand we'll do our best to explain it.

This policy applies to Qeepa Ltd ("Qeepa", "we", "our") and to anyone who uses our app, website, or services.

2. What we collect

We collect a few categories of information.

Account information

Your name, email, phone number, address, and any contact preferences you set.

Identity verification

To meet our regulatory obligations, we verify who you are. This involves a government-issued ID, a live selfie, and basic background checks run by our identity providers.

Item information

Photographs, descriptions, serial numbers, and condition reports for items you ask us to value or accept as collateral.

Bank and payment information

Your bank account details, so we can send and receive money, and a record of payments made and received.

Usage information

Things our systems log automatically when you use the app or website, like the device you're using, approximate location based on IP, and how you move through the product. We use this to keep the service running, fix bugs, and improve the experience.

Communications

Messages you send us through support, email, or in-app chat, and our replies.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Open and run your account
  • Verify your identity, in line with applicable financial regulations
  • Value items, agree loans, and process repayments
  • Hold and insure items pledged as collateral
  • Detect and prevent fraud and money laundering
  • Communicate with you about your account, loans, or items
  • Improve the product based on how it's used
  • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

4. Who we share it with

We share your information with a small number of trusted partners, only when needed to run the service:

  • Identity verification providers
  • Payment processors and banking partners
  • Insurance and storage partners (for collateral handling)
  • Cloud and software vendors that host our infrastructure

We may also disclose information to regulators, law enforcement, or courts where we are legally required to.

What we don't do: we do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not run advertising or third-party tracking SDKs in our app.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account, and for a period afterwards based on the type of data and what regulators require us to retain. As a rule of thumb:

  • Account information: while you have an account, plus six years
  • Loan and payment records: at least seven years after the loan closes
  • Identity verification records: at least five years after your last activity
  • Communications: up to three years

Where we no longer need data for any of the purposes above, we securely delete or anonymise it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct it if it's wrong
  • Ask us to delete it (where we're not required to keep it)
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive a copy in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the basis we relied on
  • Complain to a data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@qeepa.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use standard industry measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe and we tell you promptly if anything goes wrong.

8. Cookies and analytics

The Qeepa website uses a small number of essential cookies (to remember your preferences) and a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not track you across the web. We do not use advertising cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time in your browser settings.

9. International transfers

Some of our partners are based outside the country you live in. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use the safeguards required by law to protect it, such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Children

Qeepa is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have data about a child, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

12. Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or about how your data is handled, write to privacy@qeepa.com.
